Voting Question: Can anyone suggest some ways of encouraging my 18 month old to stand?
Heidi will stand whilst you hold her hands or she'll balance against something, she's made some progress in the last few weeks in that she'll now bend her knees and move her feet around a little, even take a step towards you whilst you hold her hands. At this point in time she does not pull herself to standing, I'm going to put a toy out of her reach on the 3rd tier of the stairs tonight and see if she'll pull herself up to stand and get that (just found that tip on an internet site) But what did you do to encourage your babies to stand up. There are only 3 surfaces in our living room that she shows an interest in climbing on the TV, coffee table and the computer table all of which I don't really want her to be touching because I'm worried she could pull them over on herself, in fact she has done so with the coffee table in the past, therefore when she touches these things she gets a firm 'no'. So now I'm also worried that I've discouraged her from standing by saying no to her and now she just doesn't know what to use. Any ideas? moreResolved Question: Stephen King recommended books, after reading cell?
I have just finished reading cell for the second time, it is by far my favorite book, although i haven't read many. i loved the ending, i know a lot of people hated it but to be honest.. i cant really imagine a better one that wouldn't ruin the story. Anyway, after reading cell i asked if there were any other books that i would enjoy for the same reasons as cell, and i noticed a lot of people recommending "The Stand". i tried reading the stand, but i couldn't get past the first 100 pages, there were too many characters, and i think it was a little over sized for me too. I then read misery, which i enjoyed, but not nearly as much as cell. i also tried reading the first of the dark tower series, "the gunslinger" but i couldn't get very far into it, i cant put my finger on why exactly, but i just couldn't keep reading it. im trying to find another book like cell, loads of action, with so many interesting ideas (the whole humans/computers theory idea introduced by Jordan i believe...) a book that actually makes you fall in love with the characters, and then depress you (Alice' death, which i still haven't gotten over LOL, and the fact that you never find out what happens to to Tom and Jordan.) are there any other books, not necessarily by Stephen King, with all these features, without the complications of the stand, the monotonous storyline of misery, or the lack of action in the gunslinger? Cell was the ONLY book that actually made me feel for the characters... :/ moreVoting Question: How Can I Progress To Earn A Highly Paid IT Job?
Hi I am really interested in computers and have already done an ITQ Level 2, ive started doing an ICT Level 2 course and i am also hoping to do an ICT Level 3, im just wondering if this will be worth my time as the jobs i have seen advertised so far which i think relate to especially the ICT Qualifications only pay like £14,000 per year which does not really amount to much probably about £250 per week, i was also thinking of doing the Cisco course after the level 3 if i think im up for it by then, but my aims are to buy a nice house, have a nice car and just be able to live comfortably, (My dream would be to move abroad like Australia or Canada) i know for a fact that there are shortages of skilled IT workers but if they are so desperate why is the pay so low? I just need some advice on what courses to go for that will benefit me most whether it be hardware or software (but preferably hardware) im not too keen on web design though i find it a bit boring lol, any help would be really appreaciated with this especially from someone who knows how to get into highly paid IT jobs. (P.S i would not be able to do any university courses as i already have my own place so it would not be possible for me) I am sorry but i have to say to John C, this is yahoo answers not a job application, i actually have grade A in english and this is only yahoo answers, i dont think it really matters do you........ moreResolved Question: What Size Salary Can I Expect From Doing These?

Due to the current financial climate, a lot of people are putting off certain jobs that require skilled tradesmen, as they can't afford them. This got me thinking about Skill Swapping. As I am a copywriter and marketer, and my husband is a plumber, we feel we have quite a few useful skills between us to 'swap' for other skills. For instance, Simon would happily install a bathroom in the Huddersfield area, in return for someone laying the flags on our patio and erecting a fence. Or I would write a press release and a brochure for someone in return for free hypnotherapy, or even a month of babysitting Saturday night! Everyone has a skill they can swap. A quick Google search showed me that there is a website you can join - but I found the way it had been organised irritating, and despite adding a lot of very varied skills, it came up with no matches for me. I am therefore looking for people with any skills that they feel would be useful in implementing a Skill Swapping Network - in the same vein perhaps as the Freecycle Network (of which I am a member.) Initially I do not feel that it is necessary to make money on this, though I feel certain if correctly publicised the site could become a national phenomenon - despite the current competition. Is there anyone out there with any skills or ideas which they would like to contribute? Obviously I need a web designer, but all tech advice, PR, Marketers, ideas, television people, journalists are of interest - in fact anyone who is interested and willing to get involved!! Anyone feel they can help my cause? NB: This question was originally posted in 'Social Science' though following a dissapointing response and the advice of one of the answerers, I am posting here, in the hope I will get some helpful computer people interested!!!Just a couple of points - thanks for the details for freelancing websites, but I am aware of these - this is not what I am proposing at all. I simply wish people to have an opportunity to have things done which they are unable to do themselves. Someone mentioned the varience in the perceived 'value' of a skill. I would propose that there is no value to a skill - if you do not have a skill it is valuable to you - be it plumbing or brain surgery. What you are offering or receiving is a persons TIME - therefore a project should be balanced in that respect - though I am sure that people will be reasonable and come to mutally acceptable agreements. Thnx to all answerers so far - particularly re: Freecycle - I will look into that this aft! moreResolved Question: i cant offer anything right now, to those who flirt with me, howd i deal with this ?

I am supposed to write a letter to my headmaster about changing school's curriculum : Have you ever thought of changing the schools curriculum in order to make the students to be successful and happy? The school feel that if we make some changes, it is going to be a huge success, have happy students and the school is going to have a good reputation. This means that it will benefit greatly. Firstly, one thing that is going to be important for later on in life. It is very useful is adding a new lesson; this will learn the students new life skills from first aid to camping to survive in this world. It will no only learn students new skills , which we need but also to learn us to be dependent. This is priorarty to the students and we deserve to learn those things. Although other subjects are very important to learn and will take us far in life, but this will be an interesting session and will help the students in other subjects as well as trips/holidays. This will put the students confidence to the best. Many times have students felt scared or don't know what to do in any situation and puts their life in danger. We will therefore need this lesson and will help in every day life. Secondly, in order to raise the studnets confident even more is by learning other kinds of skills; job skills. If we start work experience earlier, the students will know what skills are needed in any situation for any particular job. It is very essential! By starting earlier students will get the chance by working in different work-places and eventually, they will know what they want to study in and work later on. Although this is very important, students to need to concentrate on the important lessons such as English, Science and maths. Furthermore students might be too young to start working and will be more useful if we wait when we are able to work. Thirdly, we have all noticed that the musical instruments; they are either broken or doesn't work properly, it is clearly that we need to buy new instruments to give the students the chance to revise/learn a musical piece. This is very essential for the GCSE's students as they are working really hard to achieve their target grade. We would also need to have more musical lesson to those students who wants to try a new insturment or continue from where they left it from. If we add more musical lessons it will also put youngsters and teenagers out of the streets comitting crimes; this can cause problems and will not create a good reputation to the school. On the other side, we could spend the money on buying new equipments such as educational books, computers or other essential things, but we also need to think of the music department that needs changes too. In conclusion, by changing the school's curriculum, not only will the students be happy but they will also have a great level of confidence in any situation and be successful in life. Furthemore, we will be a great role models for the new year sevens. I will be looking forward to work with you and to hear your oppinions! Yours sincerely ...... ... Thank you for reading this letter, and sorry if it was long, but can anyone see anything wrong, grammaticly, does it persuade or is it like facts? what can i do to persuade it more? Thank you once again! moreResolved Question: what job would suit me?
Hi, i'm 16, and next year i start sixth form. i'm just a bit worried because after that i've no idea what to do or where to go - and i've got no idea what kind of job/career i want. i'm studying history, law, psychology and R.s & Philosophy next year. i like to be an active person - i couldn't bear a desk job in front of a computer every day. i'm interested in everything, i love knowing how stuff works and understand things, yet i find all sciences and stuff at school incredibly boring. in fact, i don't like school at all: i find being cooped up and being taught to pass exams a load of rubbish, and was considering not going back. i currently work at local supermarket but that ain't what i'm lookin for careerwise! like i say, i'm fascinated by nature, people, physics, space, economics, laws, thinking, technology, history and most things, but just find being taught it in school so boring. i was thinking about joining the police, but i'm not sure that's what i'm looking for. any ideas?i can see where your coming from, but like i said - i don't like sitting still, and my uncles also a pilot and the hours and constant moving house he has to do sound a bit rubbish. moreResolved Question: stereotypes in general are ill?

Korean men avoid to marry other races? one korean man Peter has married a white aussie woman and has a pretty son nowadays. On the day of his wedding his mom totally had refused to come. She shouted loudly to him: "Feel like a devil in disguise, if u didnt marry your own woman said she. In fact his mom was wrong, cause his white wife is a correct woman". why some people are affraid to marry the women from other nations? We often have read some of the conservative opinions or negative comments such as "white girls are only good for nothing, white guys are lazy or the asians are ugly and short". I don't feel that there is ever enough places out there that are devoted to getting to elderly upto-date with the usage of computers. This is the first scam that we have seen that tries to live off the name of the 2008 Olympics in Beijing. The China National Oil Corporation is currently a hot stock market pick and owns a certain portion of valuable crude oil worldwide. By utilizing this known company to promote a "free" trip to the Olympics the scammer is looking to receive a lot of interest on this offer. And what does the spammer hope to receive in return? This is a classic example of enticement. Scammers that pretend to come from a well known source immediately ease the recipient's doubts using the "known" factor. Then, they offer up free goods. In this case, the free goods consist not only of money but also coveted Olympics tickets. As always, be cautious of opening and/or responding to unsolicited email. Before you open any email, be certain that you are expecting the email or at least have a good idea of what it is about, you know the sender, and that the sender's email address is familiar. I'm 15 and I'm currently Christian and I'm really into science and I do believe there is a God and only one God but I am very open minded to other peoples belief and I'm not going to try and say that if you have a load of Gods you're wrong, that's your way of life and your own choice and I believe everyone has the right to their religion. I wasn't actually looking for proof, I was studying time travel theories cos it interests me and I'd like to come up with the perfect time travel theory that doesn't include nuclear energy and I'm current working on my own equation for time travel and it works and makes perfect sense so far based on other theories, but I was watching this documentry and they were saying that time is so vast and so powerful and that how fast technology is progressing that this Earth could possibly just be a computer programme(ok I don't believe that) but they said that for an energy as powerful as time to exist there must be a higher being, a creature with no beginning and no end and for me that's God and was way before I came accross this, but as you've figured I'm very into the science of things and the Bible is way too far fetched, the things that happen in it, some of it I can't believe, mainly the creation story, and to be part of a religion you need to believe all of it and quite frankly, I can't believe Christianity. Now, I'm not Catholic and to be honest I'm not properly Christian, I'm part of a Christian Church but I still have the choice of my religion so I don't have to actually convert, but I go to a Catholic School and we had an Islam Awareness Week and this mobile exhibit from Rotheram set up in the school for a week and they showed all the Islamic beliefs and prophets and I came over a science section and it showed the Islamic Creation Story and how it was simular to the Big Bang and it covered other beliefs of Islam and showed how they matched with modern day science and I can believe it as none of it is as far fetched as the bible, the bible is like a fairy-tale compared to the Quran and I really want to convert to Islam, as I believe it is the right faith for me but I live in the UK and as you probably know the media is blinded by the fact of Al-queda(I don't know how to spell it) doing their terrorist bombing when they're only a tiny part of Islam and most my mates hate Islam and alot of their parents hate Isalm because of the media and I'm afraid if I open my mouth my Mum will be the same, no matter how understanding my Dad says my Mum is, I don't think she'll like it. What can I do, cos if I can't change religion now I'll change at 16 but I'd like to convert sometime before I'm 16. What should I do? I did try hinting it to her by telling her how believeable I find the Quran but that didn't work.Science has no God, I believe in a God, and if your gonna listen to the fucking media get lost and don't answer this question.Yeah but there belief of how the Universe was created as shown in the exhibited set up by Muslims it's very simular to the big bang theory.Yeah, I'm not sexist you sexist morons coming here, sexism is nothing great and when I do convert I am still keeping my somewhat hopefully feminist ways as I hope to join a feminist group when I'm older. My girlfriend is Muslim anyway and she has told me about alot of the beliefs and the culture.Just to correct someone about time, time isn't just orbit, it is based on the speed of an object, its atom movements and where it is in the Universe, some place time stops, some speeds time stops, Eistien has proved it about speed.Islam Awareness Week was ages ago, I thought about this for a long time, I've told my girlfriend about it and she says she'll help me if I have questions so.Last person to answer, read about Jesus in the gospel, yeah I'll do that cos Christian churchs have stopped preaching about Jesus, NOT. IKNOW ABOUT Jesus(PBUH) CHRIST AND I KNOW ABOUT Muhammed(PBUH). moreResolved Question: British traffic officers?
Two British traffic patrol officers from North Berwick were involved in an unusual incident while checking for speeding motorists on the A-1 Great North Road. One of the officers used a hand-held radar device to check the speed of a vehicle approaching over the crest of a hill, and was surprised when the speed was recorded at over 300 mph. Their radar suddenly stopped working and the officers were not able to reset it. Just then a deafening roar over the treetops revealed that the radar had in fact latched on to a Tornado fighter jet which was engaged in a low-flying exercise over the Border district, approaching from the North Sea. Back at police headquarters the chief constable fired off a stiff complaint to the RAF liaison office. Back came the reply in true laconic RAF style: "Thank you for your message, which allows us to complete the file on this incident. You may be interested to know that the tactical computer in the Tornado had detected the presence of, and subsequently locked onto, your hostile radar equipment and automatically sent a jamming signal back to it. Furthermore, an air-to-ground missile aboard the fully armed aircraft had also automatically locked onto your equipment. Fortunately, the pilot flying the Tornado recognised the situation for what it was, quickly responded to the missile systems alert status, and was able to override the automated defence system before the missile was launched and your hostile radar installation was destroyed. Have you ever looked at the concept of mapping within the criminal justice system? They intend to map not only offenders but the children of offenders. I have a theory that the purpose of inter-agency working, ID cards, DNA testing etc will one day lead to a society that is totally controlled and supervised through a computer controlled bureaucratic government subsidised organisation. They've sold everything else! Schools already use a system of fingerprinting and ID cards so that our children can have their dinner. I have no doubt that the worst thing about this will be the fact that the government will charge us for the privilege of total monitoring whilst employing a company incapable of fulfilling the role. I'd be interested in hearing of any company that has been successful in fulfilling this role. I'm not sure why our government wrote the 1998 Data protection act or why they have ever entered in to conversation regarding the human rights of individuals. mentor.northeast@yahoo.coI am doing this to see your reactions and as i quest most of you are happy with this practice to label and file you until they need you were have our rights gone moreResolved Question: Can you top this for a speeding ticket?

To cut a long story short I have quite a crush on my neighbour, and I'm pretty sure it's mutual (or at least it was until 2 weeks ago when our first meeting went t*ts up). ANYWAY, I want to go over and re-break the ice, you know, maybe offer him the computer lessons I said I'd give him the last time we met, that kind of thing, just something casual. HOWEVER, I'm having a crisis of confidence - I mean, he's an utter hottie and I'm probably nothing more than a deluded twat with ideas above my station. Also, I get very tongue-tied in situations of pressure, any tips on maintaining a level head while talking to him? I am a giddy fool and crap tends to fall out of my mouth instead of the stuff I mean to say. In fact, any tips at all regarding this matter would be great. It's been a while since I've been in a relationship BTW, so I'm a bit rusty - and whenever I've been interested in someone since, I've made an utter twunt out of myself and had my fecking fingers burned too many times... moreResolved Question: A husband with a computer addiction?
A husband with a computer addiction My Dear Husband, I am sending you this letter via this BBS communications thing, so that you will be sure to read it. Please forgive the deception, but I thought you should know what has been going on at home since your computer entered our lives TWO YEARS AGO. The children are doing well. Tommy is seven now and is a bright, handsome boy. He has developed quite an interest in the arts. He drew a family portrait for a school project, all the figures were good, and the back of your head is very realistic. You should be very proud of him. Little Jennifer turned three in September. She looks a lot like you did at that age. She is an attractive child and quite smart. She still remembers that you spent the whole afternoon with us on her birthday. What a grand day for Jenny, despite the fact that it was stormy and the electricity was out. I am doing well. I went blonde about a year ago, and discovered that it really is more fun! George, I mean, Mr. Wilson, the department head, has taken an interest in my career and has become a good friend to us all. I discovered that the household chores are much easier since I realized that you didn't mind being vacuumed but that feather dusting made you sneeze. The house is in good shape. I had the living room painted last spring; I'm sure you noticed it. I made sure that the painters cut holes in the drop sheet so you wouldn't be disturbed. Well, my dear, I must be going. Uncle George--err--Mr. Wilson, I mean, is taking us all on a ski trip and there is packing to do. I have hired a housekeeper to take care of things while we are away, she'll keep things in order, fill your coffee cup and bring your meals to your desk, just the way you like it. I hope you and the computer will have a lovely time while we are gone. Tommy, Jenny and I will think of you often. Try to remember us while your disks are booting. A policeman was interrogating 3 blondes who were training to become detectives. To test their skills in recognizing a suspect, he shows the first blonde a picture for 5 second and then hides it. "This is your suspect, how would you recognize him?" The first blonde answers, "That's easy, we'll catch him fast because he only has one eye!" The policeman says, "Well...uh...that's because the picture shows his profile." Slightly flustered by this ridiculous response, he flashes the picture for 5 seconds at the second blonde and asks her, "This is your suspect, how would you recognize him?" The second blonde giggles, flips her hair and says, "Ha! He'd be too easy to catch because he only has one ear!" The policeman angrily responds, "What's the matter with you two?? Of course only one eye and one ear are SHOWING because it's a picture of his profile!! Is that the best answer you can come up with?" Extremely frustrated at this point, he shows the picture to the third blonde and in a very testy voice asks, "This is your suspect, how would you recognize him?" He quickly adds "...think hard before giving me a stupid answer." The blonde looks at the picture intently for a moment and says, "Hmmmm...the suspect wears contact lenses." The policeman is surprised and speechless because he really doesn't know himself if the suspect wears contacts or not. "Well, that's an interesting answer...wait here for a few minutes while I check his file and I'll get back to you on that." He leaves the room and goes to his office, checks the suspect's file in his computer, and comes back with a beaming smile on his face. "Wow! I can't believe it...it's TRUE! The suspect does in fact wear contact lenses. Good work! How were you able to make such an astute observation?" "That's easy," the blonde replied. "He can't wear regular glasses because he only has one eye and one ear." moreResolved Question: want to delete the senders details from the recd e mail before forwarding it . how to do that ?

Hi, I am a 25 year old male who suffers with anxiety and depression. My main goal in life is to sort out all the problems I have and get my life back on track. Because I have been let down a lot in the past I had to deal with so many problems I do not know where to begin. When I was at school I was bullied and occasionally beaten. However, as many people in my position would have told somebody about what was going on I did not. I thought I could deal with the problems myself, however, I could not and it is a regret I still live with today. The bullying did not stop after school, it continued to go on through college, even my first job. When I left my first job and started at my second job, the bullying stopped. However, I became so insecure by then I suffered with paranoia and panic attacks because I constantly worried about what people thought about me. After that job ended I just did not have the courage to find another one so I shut myself off from the world. I got depressed, moody and just ate and ate. I also would not talk to anyone at that time, even my own family. After nearly a year of not doing anything with my life I realized I needed help, I do not know how I managed it but I went to see the doctors and told him about my problems. He then referred me to the mental health clinic, however, they felt I was not that bad and they referred me to I.V.S. the Independent Visitors Scheme and they paired me up with a volunteer once a fought night just to get me out of the house. When I first started going out I really found it difficult being around public crowded places and my panic attacks got worse. A while after that I decided to do a computer course. Although I feel I have a long way to go I manage to work two part time volunteer jobs, as I am on incapacity benefits. And I am looking forward to one day having a full time paid job. Right now though I am just taking one day at a time. I have also decided to go and see a counsellor and have just recently started seeing them for one on one sessions and then group therapy with people who have been in the similar position as me. It has also affected my love life, in fact I do not even have a love life thanks to my anxiety and depression. I often wonder if I ever will. It has also affected my sex drive as I am still a virgin and have never been interested in sex. I know you will say that is because of the medication I am on, but the fact is I am not on any medication. The doctor felt I did not need it. Will my sex drive come back? Will I be able to have a love life as I am not interested in sex and suffer from anxiety and depression? moreResolved Question: CSA problem!?

What i mean is sure everyone likes films and the arts but if you spent 4 years studying fims and invested money to study is it worth it in the end if you can't get a job? I am unsure what to study but i need to do something as I am in a dead end job I am interested in animals and films but jobs in these are minimal the obvious answer is do a degree in finance or computers or management or something but that would be boring as hell and i would find it hard to stick it out and finish the course especially with no money, i know most people hate their jobs but get paid well for it. I hate my job and want to change but without no experiance or qualifications it is near impossible. ...is not just racism/bullying - these are simply side-effects of the real problem which is the fact that younger people today have absolutely no respect for others, have the worse command of the English language ever (no doubt due to text revolution, do u no wot I mean?) and the basic values in life have been lost as kids get the latest computer game/trainers etc handed to them on a plate instead of being taught the values of 'earning' these things. Isn't it interesting that it's the youngest members of the house are the ones who displayed such appalling behaviour? We need to bring back the belt, give parent's the right to choose to discipline their children as they see fit, and national service even - the young men and women of today just do not have a clue about the real world and how to conduct themselves in it. Tree-huggers who say it's wrong to slap a kid who's behaving badly are the ones doing the real damage. It's time to teach our kids that there are consequences...BTW - I don't mean ALL young people, I know there are some good 'uns who have been brought up to use their intelligence, show respect and know the value of things. It's just that it seems these are in the minority. Also, I am not implying we need to start beating our children, but we have lost the power to give our children the one or two slaps they should need in their life to know when they've crossed the line when all other forms of reasoning with them have failed. If we can't teach our kids this lesson, life throws them a much harder slap, as Jade is finding out... Thanks for your comments, everyone - keep them coming! moreResolved Question: On which website can I find interesting computer facts e.g. first computer, meaning of 'bug' etc?

Star Trek TNG Meets Microsoft -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Picard: Mr. LaForge, have you had any success with your attempts at finding a weakness in the Borg? And Mr. Data, have you been able to access their command pathways? Geordi: Yes, Captain. In fact, we found the answer by searching through our archives on late Twentieth-century computing technology. Geordi presses a key, and a logo appears on the computer screen. Riker [puzzled] What the hell is Microsoft? Data [turns to explain] Allow me to explain. We will send this program, for some reason called Windows, through the Borg command pathways. Once inside their root command unit, it will begin consuming system resources at an unstoppable rate. Picard: But the Borg have the ability to adapt. Won't they alter their processing systems to increase their storage capacity? Data: Yes, Captain. But when Windows detects this, it creates a new version of itself known as an upgrade. The use of resources increases exponentially with each iteration. The Borg will not be able to adapt quickly enough. Eventually all of their processing ability will be taken over and none will be available for their normal operational functions. Picard: Excellent work. This is even better than that unsolvable geometric shape idea. . . . . 15 Minutes Later . . . Data: Captain, we have successfully installed the Windows in the Borg's command unit. As expected, it immediately consumed 85% of all available resources. However, we have not received any confirmation of the expected upgrade. Geordi: Our scanners have picked up an increase in Borg storage and CPU capacity, but we still have no indication of an upgrade to compensate for their increase. Picard: Data, scan the history banks again and determine if there is something we have missed. Data: Sir, I believe there is a reason for the failure in the upgrade. Appearently the Borg have circumvented that part of the plan by not sending in their registration cards. Riker: Captain, we have no choice. Requesting permission to begin emergency escape sequence 3F! Geordi: [excited] Wait, Captain! Their CPU capacity has suddenly dropped to 0% ! Picard: Data, what do your scanners show? Data: [studying displays] Appearently the Borg have found the internal Windows module named Solitaire, and it has used up all available CPU capacity. Picard: Lets wait and see how long this Solitaire can reduce their functionality. . . . . Two Hours Pass . . . Riker: Geordi, what is the status of the Borg? Geordi: As expected, the Borg are attempting to re-engineer to compensate for increased CPU and storage demands, but each time they successfully increase resources I have setup our closest deep space monitor beacon to transmit more Windows modules from something called the Microsoft Fun-Pack. Picard: How much time will that buy us? Data: Current Borg solution rates allow me to predict an interest time span of 6 more hours. Geordi: Captain, another vessel has entered our sector. Picard: Identify. Data: It appears to have markings very similar to the Microsoft logo... [over the speakers] This is admiral Bill Gates of the Microsoft flagship MONOPOLY. We have positive confirmation of unregistered software in this sector. Surrender all assets and we can avoid any trouble. You have 10 seconds to comply. Data: The alien ship has just opened its forward hatches and released thousands of humanoid-shaped objects. Picard: Magnify forward viewer on the alien craft! Riker: My God, captain! Those are human beings floating straight toward the Borg ship - with no life support suits! How can they survive the tortures of deep space?! Data: I dont believe that those are humans, sir. If you will look closer I believe you will see that they are carrying something recognized by twenty-first century man as doeskin leather briefcases, and wearing Armani suits. Riker and Picard, together [horrified] Lawyers!! Geordi: It can't be. All the Lawyers were rounded up and sent hurtling into the sun in 2017 during the Great Awakening. Data: True, but appearently some must have survived. Riker: They have surrounded the Borg ship and are covering it with all types of papers. Data: I believe that is known in ancient vernacular as red tape. It often proves fatal. Riker: They're tearing the Borg to pieces! Picard: Turn the monitors off, Data, I cant bear to watch. Even the Borg doesn't deserve such a gruesome death! moreResolved Question: Digital photography brightness part 2 (with pictures)?
I have another question ongoing and I have now added a link to some photos which I uploaded. On my screen monitor they are really dark are they really dark on your monitor? They are just random photos I took yesterday some have filter effects. I would be interested in any commentsas to what to do and if you like the effects?? The site is here http://public.fotki.com/poshrat/brightness_test/ The picture hottie eye has been brightened. I am using a Megxon C480 8 MP camera. I have just put in a new 1GB SD card BUT still when I take pictures they look nice and bright on the camera screen but when I upload to the computer they are darker???? I am using a HP75 monitor and everything is great apart from the fact that I have to increase the brightness on each photo. Is there any test I can do? If I change the brightness to each photo then when I picture share the photos may be too bright for them??? I never use a flash and the pictures are being taken on a bright day. moreTop Interesting Computer Facts Links
